Beverly Lavender

Beverly Lavender is an apparel designer by profession and has worked for more than thirty years in the fashion industry. As a teenager, she received some formal art training and attended the Banff school under scholarship for a summer program. After studying fashion design at Ryerson, she concentrated on her career and did not pick up  a brush until 2003.

Primarily, the subjects are still life and  large-scale floral portraits. Textiles are often a feature of the still life compositions, expressing a passion for pattern and colour. Her background  in design shines through, exhibiting a keen eye for proportion and  dramatic composition.
